About Us

Rooted in earth. Made with meaning.

A good piece of furniture should outlive the room it was bought for.

ARATH makes pieces from the materials of the earth — wood, stone, metal — shaped to be lived with for years, and to grow more yours as those years pass. Made well, from real materials, by people who understand them. The kind of work that gets quieter and better with time, not louder and cheaper.

The name holds the idea. Earth, for what we build from. And arth — meaning — for what a piece comes to hold in a home: a place in the life lived around it, a story worth telling, the thing you'd never part with.

We make the things you keep.

A note from our founder

I've spent fifteen years around furniture, and I've stood on nearly every side of it. I've seen it made on the workshop floor and sold across a showroom counter. I've sourced the raw material and watched it become something. I've designed interiors and handed over finished homes. Wholesale, retail, design, material — I've seen the whole trade, from the rough end to the refined one.

That's the thing I couldn't unlearn. When you've seen how most furniture is really made, you stop being impressed by how it looks and start caring about how it lasts. You can tell honest work from quick work. You notice which pieces a family keeps for years, and which ones they quietly replace.

ARATH is what I chose to build with everything those years taught me.

The name carries one thing more. It comes from a place my family belongs to — roots I don't wear on the surface, but that travel with me into everything we make. It felt right that the work should carry it too.
